Don D. Brown is a Florida author, retired insurance professional, former member of the Florida House of Representatives, and longtime student of the principles that shape families, communities, and public policy.
His books range from fiction rooted in life along Choctawhatchee Bay to biblical stories for younger readers, memoir, leadership, insurance, public policy, and reflections on aging. Although the subjects vary, the books share a common concern: what experience teaches us, what responsibility requires of us, and what we should pass to the next generation.
Don lives in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, with his wife, Diane.

Don D. Don served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2008, where he chaired the House Insurance Committee. In January 2007, he was one of only two members to vote against House Bill 1A — a vote he made on principle, warning that expanding Citizens Property Insurance and suppressing market rates would destabilize Florida’s insurance system for a generation. He currently serves on the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund Advisory Council and the Florida Building Commission.
