Don D. Brown is an author published by Rebell Books with more than forty titles across ten series, ranging from literary fiction and children’s biblical education to Florida coastal policy and financial literacy for young readers. His work is rooted in his upbringing on Northwest Florida’s Choctawhatchee Bay, where his father, Dewey Brown, worked the waters aboard the shrimp boat Polly Ann — a heritage that runs through both his fiction and his nonfiction

Don served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2008, where he chaired the House Insurance Committee. In January 2007, he was one of only two members to vote against House Bill 1A — a vote he made on principle, warning that expanding Citizens Property Insurance and suppressing market rates would destabilize Florida’s insurance system for a generation. He currently serves on the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund Advisory Council and the Florida Building Commission.
